Maersk Air Cargo is looking for an additional colleague in the Ground Ops department, to assist with our fast-paced expansion.

Maersk Air Cargo (MAC) was founded in 1987 being 100% owned by A. P. Moller-Maersk, with the name of Star Air A/S. We have provided support to UPS on their intra-European parcel network for several decades. Our company is growing, being an integrated part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Air Freight product, performing the “Own Controlled Flights Operation” within Maersk. Future expansion plan includes operating 22 Boeing 767´s, a corporate Gulfstream G600 and the introduction of two brand new Boeing 777´s in 2024.

The Ground Ops department is an integral part of the airline, working with creating and maintaining manuals for
cargo/ground handling, participate actively to ensure our aircraft are handled safely and secure ground handling contracts. All is done with enhanced focus on precision and quality.
We always ensure that all documents and procedures comply with relevant legislation.

The Ground Ops department currently consists of 4 dedicated staff, with our headquarter based in Lyngby, Denmark.
About the job
What we are looking for in this position is a colleague to assist the department with two main, but not exclusive, duties.
The first is to assist the department in the day-to-day business regarding supporting the other departments in Maersk Air Cargo with guidelines, procedures and manuals for an execution of a safe aircraft operation.
You will participate in both daily and weekly strategic planning meetings regarding all that falls under the ground and cargo ops umbrella of Maersk Air Cargo.
It is dependent on you and the department to plan and make sure that our procedures are executed according to
our standards. This also means that you will be involved in creating compliance reports for our operation.
The second main duty is to assist Maersk Air Cargo in active Loadmaster duties. This will include charter flights in
Maersk Air Cargo regime, as well as “start-up” and “pre-audits” of operations at new permanent stations/airports.
As such, you will contribute to MAC Operational Control & Supervision. This means that you will liaise with all
entities involved in the handling of a MAC aircraft. This includes warehouse operator, ground handler,
Operations Control Centre (OCC) and MAC crew to ensure and support a safe operation according to our standards
and procedures.
Job requirements
- Previous experience in aviation is a must.
- Excellent communication skills in English (speech and writing).
- Positive and flexible attitude;
- MS Office proficiency and very strong IT skills.
- The ability to work in a team and on individual basis.
- The ability to be accurate and pay attention to details.
- Must meet criteria for work cross-border within the European Union without visa requirements.
- Willingness to work under “call-in” conditions.
- Previous experience with weight and balance of wide body aircraft is preferred.
- Experience working as a Loadmaster would be considered an advantage.
- Dangerous Goods experience would be considered an advantage.
The Loadmaster and “start-up” duties will include travelling. All required training will be arranged by Maersk Air Cargo, either in-house or by external providers.

You should expect a combination of periods with Loadmaster travel activities and periods with office work in Lyngby. In Lyngby you will be working on a full-time flexed schedule Mon-Fri, with the option to perform some days as home-duty.
