Join Our Maintrol Team as a Maintenance Control Lead
Do you have a passion for keeping complex operations running smoothly and for leading teams in a high-stakes environment? We’re looking for a Maintenance Control Lead to join our Fleet Management Team at CityJet. In this key leadership role you’ll coordinate and guide our Maintenance Control operation, ensuring our fleet stays safe, compliant and ready to fly.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Maintenance Control Lead, you’ll report to the Technical Operations Manager and manage the day-to-day activities of our Maintenance Control team. You’ll be both a hands-on expert and a coach—driving performance, overseeing processes and stepping in when operational needs arise.
Your typical responsibilities include:
- Managing the Maintenance Control budget and monitoring compliance.
- Coordinating and scheduling the Maintenance Control team to provide full operational coverage, including ad-hoc support when required.
- Reporting on technical operations performance to the Network Team and customer airlines.
- Ensuring competence assessments are completed and training/development needs are met for all team members.
- Overseeing base and line maintenance coordination with the traffic programme, including aircraft acceptance from scheduled maintenance and timely delivery to MROs.
- Ensuring MEL/hold items are rectified on time and that maintenance performed is properly documented according to the approved programme.
- Supplying approved technical data and maintaining archival records of work orders, due lists, logs and other technical documentation.
- Acting as the primary liaison between Fleet Management, outsourced maintenance organisations and Type Certificate Holders on troubleshooting, chronic defect investigations and aircraft recovery plans.
- Keeping Technical Operations and Traffic Planning teams informed about deferred defects, maintenance rotations and upcoming scheduled inputs.
- Managing shift schedules, overtime records and team performance.
- Leading the team’s coordination of AOG situations, unscheduled planning, daily work package preparation, AMOS updates, materials planning and daily meetings with contracted Part-145 MROs.
- Overseeing the handling of abnormal situations and hosting visitors or external parties on behalf of CityJet during out-of-office hours.
- Ensuring timely ordering of parts in AOG situations, provision of technical documentation support to MROs and daily occurrence/incident reporting.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A solid understanding of aviation regulatory requirements and working knowledge of AMOS or similar systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong time-management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Great communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with a team-player mindset.
- Commercial awareness and motivation to improve procedures where inefficiencies are identified.
- Previous experience working in an engineering/technical role is beneficial but not a requirement
